Who We Are

Based in 41460 Neuss, Mercan Fliesen is the German brand and distributor of premium natural stone and large-format 40×120 cm wall tiles. Led by Bahtiyar Zabit Syuleyman, we bring marble, travertine, granite, onyx and limestone to Germany – supplied as blocks, slabs and tiles in every size, with finishes ranging from polished and honed to brushed and vein-cut.

Our range spans around 30 named natural stones across six categories, plus a dedicated tile line. Four of these stones come from our own quarries and carry our signature: Carmine, a deep red marble, Golden Black in black and gold, and Noble and Sepia. Each is available exclusively through us.

Provenance and Material

Our roots lie in the Tihanis stone group, headquartered in Istanbul and active in natural stone for more than 15 years. Our own quarries in Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa form the foundation of our collection, complemented by partner quarries in Europe. For our clients, this closeness to the source means end-to-end control – from the block in the quarry to the finished, made-to-measure slab.

Because we stand at the source, we know every vein, every shade and every quirk of our stones. Natural stone is a material that has grown over time; no two blocks are alike. It is precisely this character that we preserve and bring to light.

Our Vision

We want natural stone to be understood for what it truly is: a living, singular material with its own story. Our vision is to be Germany’s first address for natural stone with character – for spaces that gain depth, calm and lasting value through genuine material.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring architects, interior designers, developers and discerning homeowners together with the right stone. We advise with material literacy, supply in any size and finish, and accompany every project from the first sample to delivery – never with off-the-shelf solutions, always with a true understanding of the material.

Our Values and Approach

We work on a sample-and-quote basis. There is no online shop, no fixed price list and no anonymous checkout – instead, a personal conversation and a tailored quote for your project.

When it comes to natural stone, we take a measured and honest view of sustainability. As a natural material, stone requires less processing energy than ceramic or porcelain alternatives, and its lifespan is counted in generations rather than years – once installed, it rarely needs replacing. We quarry resource-efficiently, put offcuts and remnants to use, and consolidate our transport wherever possible. We deliberately avoid claims we cannot substantiate; what remains is a material whose case rests on durability and recyclability.

Credibility and Presence

Natural stone is best judged in person. That is why we present our stones regularly at international stone exhibitions and stay in close dialogue with professionals from architecture and the trades. This keeps both our collection and our knowledge current – and gives our clients a partner who genuinely understands his materials.
